1.  What is first aid? Write with its importance. 

Ans:- An immediate care given to the patient or injured person after the accident before visiting the hospital and doctor is called first aid. The following are the importance of first aid:

i)  It provides convenience and safe place for the victim before arrival of doctors.

ii)  It is easy to brief the previous Condition of victim to the medical persons.

iii)  It blocks the worsening of injured parts by preventing bleeding and infection.

iv)  It assists the injured person to be hopeful.

v)  It saves the life of injured person.

vi)  It provides the emotional support for the victim to release the physical and mental pain.

 

2.  What are the objective and importance of first aid? Write. (long Question) 

Ans:- The following are the objective of first aid :

i)  The prime objective of first aid is to save the life of the injured person.

ii)  It provides the comfortableness to the injured person.

iii)  It increases the confidence of the injured person.

iv)  It does not allow the further complications to the injured person.

v)  It protects the injured parts from the Infection and worsening.

vi)  It supports and cares to manage the further treatment to the injured person.

  1. What are the precautions to be followed being first aider? (long Question) 

Ans:- The first aider should be followed the precautions given below:

i)  Approach to the accident spot immediately

ii)  Request for permission to being the first aid

iii)  Provide the emotional support to make the injured hopeful

iv)  Never attempt to provide the first aid hurriedly

v)  Discourage the frequent physical contact with injured person after keeping at comfortable place

vi)  Recognize the breathing and circulation, if interrupted, provide CPR

vii)  Make the immediate call of police, medical and rescue team and ambulance

viii)  Take the injured or patient to the nearby hospital or any other medical institution without and delay.

 

4.  Write the methods of first aid for the victim of heat stroke. 

Ans:- The following methods can be induced for the victim of heat stroke:

i)  Quickly move the casualty to a cool place. Remove as much as outer clothing as possible.

ii)  Wrap the casualty in a cold, wet sheet (cloth) and keep the sheet wet until temperature falls to 37.5°c(99.5°F). If no sheet is available, fan the casualty or wet with cold water.

iii)  Once the casualty’s temperature meets to normal, replace wet sheet or cloth with dry one.

iv)  If the temperature rises again, repeat all above the clothing actions.

 

5.  What is choking? What are the methods of first aid for the victim of choking? 

Ans:- The choking is an obstruction of airway due to presence of foreign bady at trachea. The following methods can be applied to the victim of choking:

i)  Encourage the child to cough if he /she is beginning to struggle.

ii)  Give up to five sharp slaps between his /her shoulder blades using the palm of hand check the mouth also.

If foreign body exists still, precedes the following actions.

Give up to five thrusts:

i)  Stand behind the child. Make a first with two hand and place it against the lower half his /her breastbone.

ii)  Drive the first and pull sharply inwards and upwards up to five times, at a rate of about one chest thrust every three seconds.

iii)  If foreign body exists still, repeat entire procedures until the foreign body clear. If not clear, quickly take or send him/her to the hospital or health post.

 

6.  What is safe living style? What are the methods to acquire safe living style (long Question)

What are the procedure to adopt the safe living in the family and community? 

Ans:- The activities that are practiced to make human life health and secure is called safe living style. There are various methods to acquire safe living style. These methods are illustrated below:

i)   Feeding of healthy, safe and nutritious balance diet

ii)  Practice of Yoga, meditation, parnayam and exercise

iii)  Provision of safety education and measures against the accident

iv)  Maintaining personal hygiene and stress management

v)  Quitting smoking, alcoholism and any form of addition

vi)  Development of positive attitude and behaviors

vii)  Management of logistic materials for emergency purpose

 

7.  What is heat stroke? What are the signs and symptoms of heat stroke? 

Ans:- The unconsciousness, faintness and casualty due to extreme heat of sun are known as heatstroke. The following are the signs and symptoms of heat stroke:

i)  Body temperature crosses 40°c(104°F)

ii)  Headache, dizziness and discomfort

iii)  Hot, flushed and dry skin

iv)  Nausea and vomit

v)  Restlessness and confusion

vi)  Unconsciousness

 

8.  What are the steps for mouth to mouth respiration? (long Question) 

Ans:- The following are the techniques for mouth to mouth respiration:

i)  Place the patient on his back firmly.

ii)  Keel the respiratory tract, mouth and throat straight forward of the injured person. Pillow or thigh of first aider can be used for this purpose.

iii)  Check the airway, if any foreign body is present, swipe it with the help of fingers.

iv)  Close the nostril of injured with index finger and thumb and open the mouth.

v)  Put the mouth of first aider over the mouth of injured person and start to below until the chest raise.

vi)  Blow air into the lungs in every 3-4 seconds and take a short recess to extract the air from the body.

vii)  Respiration may restore after some moments, if not take the injured to the hospital.
